FALL SOCCER UP AND RUNNING!!  Sign-ups and team forming for the fall season are complete!  Coaches are receiving their teams and will be calling players shortly.  Practice looks to start for most teams the week of 8/23.  Pages for teams, coaches and practices will be updated as soon as all are scheduled.

 

 

FOUNDERS DAY DUNKING TIME!!  Killen AYSO will be operating the dunking booth at Killen Founders Day again this year for some fundraising to keep our playing fees low.  Come on out and dunk your favorite (or least favorite) coaches and referees!

 

 

 

 

 

VOLUNTEERS ARE THE FOUNDATION OF KILLEN AYSO SOCCER LEAGUE!!! 

 

There are no paid members in the AYSO soccer family.  Every league official you see (registration personnel, board, members, coaches, referees, field maintenance) is a parent or youth volunteer.  Please consider donating your time to volunteer and help out the league.  Even if you have no knowledge of soccer, we can use your help.  Let us know at registration if you'd like to contribute, or talk to any of the contacts in the link to the left for further information. 

Killen AYSO is critically short on volunteers right now.  The current roster of parents and young adults that are willing to donate their time for refereeing Saturday games is so short that many of us have to ref several games, in addition to our regular coaching duties.  Please consider donating an extra hour before or after your child's game to referee or assistant referee a game.

 

A one day course is all that is required to become qualified as an AYSO referee.  Not to worry, even if you haven't even played before, many of our referees are first timers as well.  The training class will cover all the rules, and we'll have a practice game after training class so that everone can give it a try in a real refereeing environment.  After that, you can assistant referee and work with a mentor referee until you are comfortable enough to call a game on your own.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the sport your child is playing and to give back to your community.  We all need to chip in to ensure our children have a safe and fair environment in which to play and have fun.
