Killen AYSO

Referees

VOLUNTEER REFEREES NEEDED!!!
AYSO Killen is critically short on volunteers right now. The current roster of parents and young adults that are willing to donate their time for refereeing Saturday games is so short that many of us have to ref several games, in addition to our regular coaching duties. Please consider donating an extra hour before or after your child's game to referee or assistant referee a game.

A one day class is all that is required to become qualified as an AYSO referee. Not to worry, even if you haven't even played before, many of our referees are first timers as well. The training class will cover all the rules, and we'll have a practice game after training class so that everyone can give it a try in a real refereeing environment. After that, you can assistant referee and work with a mentor referee until you are comfortable enough to call a game on your own.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the sport your child is playing and to give back to your community. We all need to chip in to ensure our children have a safe and fair environment in which to play and have fun.

Referee class will be held 9am to 3pm on August 16 at shelter 2 in Killen Park. Please let your coach know if you plan to attend or email the referee coordinator so that we can have enough literature to hand out.

All coaches, referees and volunteers are required to complete the AYSOs background check by getting Safe Haven certification.

This very simple process won't take long to complete.  Please visit http://www.aysotraining.com/courselist.html

When asked, Killen Soccer is a member of AYSO region 1096.  If you don't know your AYSO ID, contact David Hensley and he'll help you out.  It is located on your team roster if you have one.
